If you are like myself and I suspect most citizens of Novato then you pay scant attention to politics.  The IJ is read---you get to the local politics page and a few expletive's follow the reading of citizens opinions, Marin Voice or the editorial.  We enjoy reading about what affects us but we take little action--save for voting--and even there we are a sorry lot--Nationally.  Here in Marin we posted the highest turnout---87% in the last national election.  So we do take our politics seriously at voting time. 

I wonder though if we are proud of our leaders over the last 5 years?  Are we better off now than we were in 07---the last year before the housing debacle drove us to 50% loss's in housing and investments.  The last year of "Rosy Predictions"  The last year that Pension investments actually earned what the pensions were based on --+/-7.5%!  We have been fed a constant diet of how that banks were guilty of everything negative that occurred since new Years 08.  We are told little if anything about how big government thru it's well meaning housing policies forced the banks to lend to unworhy borrowers.  No the truth is less important than finding a scapegoat---some one to blame for our misfortune---Heaven forbid that it might be our government!  Those same stewards that pumped up pensions in the "good times" and based their pensions on "Rosy" instead of "Real" market predictions.  Marin, even when Joe Nation---did a study and recommended  4 +/_% returns to be reality based ----refused to get off the dime!  After all someday it would be their pension!  Those same politicians today will tell you that--- "We  are doing a stellar job---Marin's economy is coming back---I am the reason!---I get the credit---Vote for me!!!"  While some of that is true---little if any is to the credit of the current Marin County Supervisors.  The economy is coming back begrudgingly--in spite of California and in spite of Marin politics--because we have hard working citizens that can take a set back and adjust their thinking---their budgets and their vision--we owe this comeback to the hardworking citizens of Marin---not the Supervisors!  This is the same set of Supervisors that brought you the EXIT of George Lucas----who admirably said--"If you don't want a new studio on my acreage---how about 500 affordable housing units?"---and there you have it---your current ----Supervisors  "results" of their---many many years in office---responsible for a colossal failure of leadership! Then there is the house that needs to move 3 inches---where no one can approve a simple existing and approved location---pathetic!

So now we have an election coming up and we have a choice in the way of ----fresh ideas, a younger attitude and an the energy  to get things done!  YOU have the opportunity to get behind the things in our local Government that have irked you for years.  YOU have the power to implement change!  So shall you be the Captain of your ship?  Shall you be in unison with one that wants to carry your wish's to fruition?  Do you realize that you are not alone--that there is someone that wants so dearly to speak for the silent majority here?  Will you help her to gain the opportunity to actually do what is best for the citizens of Novato and Marin?  Or will you just be a spectator and watch from the sidelines---or even worse---vote for the incumbency that got us here?

This woman needs your vote!  The machine is behind the competition.  The machine has 40% of the vote wrapped up---- today.  The competition is bought and paid for---with Union Money being placed where it will reap the best rewards. 

If you look hard at the picture---you can see the word---"Done" and "Old" peeking out behind---that is the message you don't need in your court--that is the woman you do not need!!

So ask yourself---who can best speak for my needs and wish's, for Novato's need's---for Marins needs-------the answer is obvious!  Not the incumbency!
