Leakage study as propaganda

Leakage numbers are not to be totally trusted-it is a propaganda devise to sway the public in one direction.  Usually, when cities do not have enough money- the strategy for councils many times is to build and satisfy the culture of outside corporate construction, which simply amplifies the problem of an upward spiral of more costs in safety personnel, pensions, clerks, administrators, traffic, and loss of a quality of life for those who chose to live in a small town atmosphere.  These negations are not the vision or the priority of Novato.  Our city and council are working to balance the outside lobbying interests with the original goals of keeping Novato’s downtown unique, respecting its agricultural heritage and design plus supporting small businesses, along with environmental and educational advantages within residential areas. Redwood Blvd’s discussion remains as one of designing and processing best land use for those goals. This means the public and city not being manipulated by lobbyists over discussion of one big box as the onus for a shopping mall including 5 story units for some of the sites. Instead, taking the time to abide by the vision and best practices for Novato is very worthwhile.  One big box does not fulfill  those criteria.
