Several of our Local Voices blog posts and news articles have garnered more than 100 comments. We really appreciate the lively discussion ... when it's civil.
But as their inboxes fill with new comment alerts, many users may find themselves regretting that they commented early in a conversation.
Not to worry. We're here to help you navigate our system so you can shut off those email alerts if you choose.
Step One:
Make sure you're logged in. You should see your user name as a hyperlink in the top right part of the screen. Click on that hyperlink to view your profile page.
Step Two:
On your profile page, you should see some links on the left. One of them says "Following." Click it.
Step Three:
The Following screen shows all the posts you are following and/or receiving email alerts for. You can click on "Stop all email updates" or you can choose which individual posts to stop receiving email updates from. You can even stop following a post all together.
Also, if you know ahead of time that you don't want to receive email alerts after commenting on a post, be sure to uncheck the box that says, "Send me email updates for this article" before submitting your comment.
