City Council will hold workshop on July 14 th, 6:00 pm in the new administration buildings in the small Womack room, information is on the calendar: http://www.ci.novato.ca.us/Index.aspx?page=636&recordid=8287 . and at: http://ci.novato.ca.us/agendas/pdfstaffreports/CC071414_B-1.pdf. The council will decide on boundaries and whether or not to remodel and/or remove historic buildings to create a plaza and more parking. The city manager wants to plan with council’s approval to use tax dollars to create new designs. Public input is limited, unless one goes to this workshop. Only 3 minutes to speak at this meeting and at another city council meeting after decisions are made. Again, there is little input being asked from Novato’s taxpayers to subsidize changes in boundaries and plans. The city manager is doing what the council has asked and that is to bring more sales to the downtown area. The idea is that by spending perhaps millions more for the downtown it will increase sales.
