Teen Identified in Deadly Lawson's Landing Shooting

By Bay City News Service:

The Marin County Sheriff's Office has identified Stachaun Jackson, 19, as the Dillon Beach man who was killed during a domestic disturbance in a trailer at Lawson's Landing on Thursday.

Jackson was staying at the trailer with two men when he was shot around 2:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff's office announced that it has arrested 56-year-old Ken Patrick Neville on suspicion of murder. He is being held under no bail in the Marin County jail, according to officials.

Sheriff's Lt. Jamie Scardina said Jackson, who also had ties to Guerneville, and an unidentified 53-year-old man who also lived in the trailer, were in a relationship.

Carl Vogler, co-owner of Lawson's Landing, said last week the two older men rented the trailer in June 2013, and Jackson, initially a guest, moved in about a month later.

Scardina said deputies responded to a disturbance call at the trailer in July 2013, and one of the three occupants was taken for a mental health evaluation.

Vogler said Jackson was always friendly when he saw him. He said he never inquired about the relationship among the three men.

"I didn't want to know. It's their business," he said.
