Justin Herrguth Announced Head Baseball Coach

Press Release
6 August 2013

Healdsburg High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Justin Herrguth as the new Head Coach of the Greyhounds Baseball program. Known as an inspiring and passionate coach, Mr. Herrguth returns to Healdsburg High School, his alma mater, with a strong baseball pedigree.

As an HHS student, Mr. Herrguth was a standout Greyhound athlete. His passion and commitment to baseball enabled him to compete at Santa Rosa Junior College, where he was recognized with All- Conference and All-State honors. He then went on to continue his playing career as an NCAA division one athlete at Western Kentucky University.

Mr. Herrguth’s commitment to baseball has continued as a coach, where he has worked on numerous levels. Most recently, he served as Head Varsity Coach at Sonoma Academy. However, he has also assisted the baseball program at Santa Rosa Junior College, as well as coached several Healdsburg Little League and competitive youth teams, including American Legion’s Healdsburg Crushers. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Business Management and is a candidate for a Masters of Arts in Secondary Education. Currently, he serves as the Physical Education teacher at The Healdsburg School, where he instructs students in grades K-8. Finally, he resides in the Dry Creek Valley and his own three boys attend schools within the Healdsburg Unified School District.

We are very pleased to have a baseball coach so connected to our community and confidently expect that Coach Herrguth will instill strong character in his student-athletes, building on the storied athletic tradition at Healdsburg High School. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Herrguth to the HHS community and wishing him and our student-athletes continued success on the diamond.
