Red Ribbon Week Contest Continued

The Novato Blue Ribbon Coalition for Youth's mission is to positively impact the well-being of Novato youth through community action, policy advocacy and education.

The 27th annual Red Ribbon Week was Oct. 23-31 this year, and the focus was to raise awareness regarding drug prevention. But families still can get involved by entering a contest in their neighborhoods, and win a drug prevention grant for their children’s school.

The National Family Partnership has announced a Red Ribbon Week contest which families can enter to win a $1,000 grant for their school, and a new iPad for their home. The Drug Enforcement Agency is co-sponsoring the contest. To participate, families and students are invited to decorate the outise of their homes with the message, “The Best Me is Drug Free.” Then, take a photo with the family and their Red Ribbon Week decorations and upload it to www.redribbon.org/contest  or  www.facebook.com/RedRibbonWeek by Nov. 9. To upload photos, you must be at least 18 years old. See website for official rules and details.

The original entry deadline was Nov. 2, but it was extended to Nov. 9 because of tropical storm Sandy. The online voting deadline was Nov. 2-16, and is now rescheduled to Nov. 10-24.
