MSA Alumni to Perform at All-Star Benefit

The Dec. 21 gathering at Unity in Marin Church will be the first-ever MSA Alumni Soiree benefit.

This year the Marin School of the Arts celebrates its 10-year anniversary. As part of the ongoing celebration of the success of MSA, alumni will come together for the first time ever from 6-10 p.m. Dec. 21 at Unity in Marin Church in Hamilton. This event will feature a group of outstanding MSA alumni students returning to perform to benefit the program.

Since 2007 (when the first four-year students graduated from MSA) graduating students have been offered more than $11,400,000 in merit awards and scholarship money.  These students have been accepted at some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in the country, including Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, Oberlin, NYU, Columbia, USC, Berkelee School of Music, The New School in New York, Vassar, Macalister, Sarah Lawrence, Dartmouth, Wellesley, Parson, Rhode Island School of Design, Cal Arts, and the Sorbonne in Paris … just to name a few!

Many of these students have continued their arts education or have pursued other disciplines but continue to participate in theatre, bands, symphonies, choirs or other performing groups. Some have graduated from college and are now working professionally in the arts. Come see for yourself some of the talent of MSA’s extraordinary alum.

Dana Pollak will emcee an all-star cast including Erin Greenwell performing an original composition with her sister, MSA Choir Director Stevie Greenwell. Ali Rucker will be part of an "All Star Band" which will include Joey Schneider and Danny Jordan on trumpet, Nick DeRyss on drums, accompanied by MSA former band teacher Garrett Michaelson. Belinda Roddie and Cameron Vanderscoff will be part of the creative writing students represented. Sam Hoffman, coming home from University of Indiana, is on guitar.  Nikola Prince and Drew Corey will be performing together, along with a host of others. Ben Campbell and Zac Schuman will add comic relief performing acts from Guttenberg! The Musical!

Tasty treats will be provided along with a no-host bar. Beer, wine, and sodas will be available with finger foods at reception, which starts at 6 p.m. The show begins at 7 p.m. with video clips of past MSA shows and live performances of MSA alumni who gather together from Los Angeles to New York for this special evening.

Tickets may be purchased in advance on our website and there will be a limited number of tickets available for sale at the door.

Tickets are $10 for MSA alumni and students, $20 for adults and $50 for a family package. Buy your tickets NOW as this show is sure to sell out!!
