The Marin School of the Arts presents its milestone 10th annual student Showcase, “Funding the Arts for the Future,” on Saturday, March 9 at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael.  In a year punctuated by an astonishing number of award-winning student performances, including wins at the Folsom, Nor Cal and CMEA Jazz Festivals, the Leanea Drama Festival, Marin County Rising Star Art Show, Poetry Out Loud regional competition, Chapman Drama Festival and Heads Up Battle of the Bands, the 2013 Showcase celebrates a decade of growth and accomplishment that features the best-of-the-best of student performances and art displays.

The Showcase is open to the public and begins at 5:30 pm with a Gallery reception featuring student work from the Visual Arts and Creative Writing departments.  Guests will enjoy elegant appetizers generously donated by Rickey’s Restaurant, Anohka Cuisine of India, Chevy’s, Muscio’s, Forks and Fingers, and Creekside Bakery.  Fine wine and beer donated by Winery Exchange, Gordon Biersch and Pizza Orgasmica will be poured at our donation beverage bar.  A 10th Anniversary keepsake wineglass featuring the student-designed 2013 Showcase logo will be available for purchase, and a live drawing for a genuine diamond gemstone will be held, courtesy of Continental Jewelers.
