A Good Sport: Marin Humane Society Caring for Injured Dog Hit by Car

What a good Sport! Despite being hit by a car, this injured Corgi mix remains upbeat.

Two weeks ago an injured dog found wandering on Ignacio Boulevard in Novato near the 76 gas station was rescued and brought to the Marin Humane Society. This adorable young Corgi mix sustained multiple pelvic fractures along with a fractured tooth, which led MHS veterinary clinic staff to conclude that he was likely hit by a car.

Nobody came to claim little Sport (that's what our clinic staff have named him). Even so, and despite his injuries, he remains in good spirits. After a successful surgery, Sport is now rehabilitating at San Quentin Prison as part of our Pen Pals Program where he will remain for several weeks before coming back to MHS to enter our adoption program.

As an open-door shelter, the Marin Humane Society accepts all domestic animals some of whom, like Sport, are injured. Every one of these animals benefits from the skill and knowledge of our veterinary team. Donations to the Marin Humane Society help support medical rehabilitation for animals like Sport.
