New Bay Area-Wide Campaign Includes Saturday Swim Event

Join park rangers, physicians and other health professionals as we launch the Bay Area-wide Healthy Parks, Healthy People initiative in Marin on Saturday, June 1.
According to health experts, people of all ages face challenges to optimum health, many of which can be improved by spending time in green space. In response, park agencies around the Bay Area have come together to offer introductory level programs for people of all ages and abilities on the first Saturday of every month.
On Saturday, June 1, McNears Beach Park in San Rafael will waive park entrance and pool admittance fees for visitors from 9:30 a.m. to noon. There will be healthy snacks and loads of fun activities and lifeguards will be on duty. This energetic family-friendly program is for all ages, fitness levels and abilities. The first 50 people to swim 10 laps receive a special park gift!
Know Before You Go: Park entrance fees do not apply until noon!
Directions: From Highway 101, take the Central San Rafael exit and head east on 2nd Street for .2 miles. Continue onto 3rd Street for .3 miles. Take a slight left onto Point San Pedro Road for 3.6 miles. Turn right onto Cantera Way. The park is at 201 Cantera Way.
