Meet the Novato Mama Blogger

Hi!  My name is Kim and I am a mom, wife, friend, Novato community member, social worker and now, a blogger.  With all of these roles to choose from, I find myself trying to decide which one to play on any given day.   I spend the majority of my time being a stay at home mom (which in my opinion is a title worthy of a blog entry of it’s own) and I fully appreciate the tough decisions and compromises we mom’s have to make in regards to family life and career.

I try really hard to find the lessons in the ordinary occurrences of each day.  Sometimes I get them, and other days I get smacked in the face with them.  I am constantly struggling to figure out who I really am, inside the bubble of playgroups, playgrounds, preschools and parties and in the process I spend a lot of time finding out who I am not.  

I plan to blog about that stuff that is important to us moms.  Stuff like talking to our kids about scary world events, figuring out how to be everything to everybody and still have a little left over for ourselves, and about what it means when we start using multiple time zones to justify the start of cocktail hour.  I hope that some of my stories will resonate with you and that you will share your stories with me too. Some of my hardest days have been softened once I shared about them with a friend.  My hope is that this blog will allow us all to be those kind of friends, to laugh and maybe even sometimes cry over the stuff that means so much to us all as moms.
