Master Gardeners Host Farmacology Event This Friday

The UC Marin Master Gardeners is proud to present author Daphne Miller M.D. who will be appearing at the American Legion Hall in Larkspur (500 Magnolia Avenue, Larkspur) this Friday, August 23, to discuss her latest book, Farmacology: What Innovative Family Farming Can Teach Us About Health and Healing. The book chronicles Miller's year-long exploration of sustainable agriculture and how she learned to be a better family doctor as a result of her journey.

A practicing physician and contributor to the Washington PostMiller has been profiled in the New York Times, O Magazine, Harvard Medical Magazine, Vogue and others. Her integrated approach to the practice of medicine combines traditional ideas of health and healing with discoveries she made in the edible gardens, farmsteads, home kitchens, and ranches she visited while researching this book.

Guests will enjoy appetizers provided by Nicasio Valley Cheese Company and other local artisan producers, as well as wine tastings from vintners Scribe and Zaremba. Marin Master Gardeners will also be on hand to share what they are doing to create a healthy environment for Marin County.
