Job Opportunities and Fall Plant Sale at Indian Valley Organic Farm & Garden

Do you enjoy working outdoors in a beautiful organic garden setting? Are you currently enrolled at College of Marin? Turn your dream into a reality! 

The Indian Valley Organic Farm & Garden, based at the College of Marin extension campus in Novato, is looking to hire three students interested in the farm's work study program. Students earn wages and potential scholarships while learning the principles and practices of organic gardening at the farm property.

Also coming this month is the annual fall Indian Valley Organic Farm & Garden Plant Sale. This not-to-be missed free event will be held Saturday & Sunday, September 28 & 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 pm.

If you're in the market for certified organic vegetable starts, culinary & tea herbs, annual & perennial flower starts, berries, fruit trees, native plants and more, this sale will be one stop shopping for all your garden needs!

Attendees will be treated to tastings, live music, face painting, bouquet-making, and farm tours. 

In addition to the aforementioned offerings, there will be a special Native Feast Day Celebration on Sunday, September 29 from noon to 3:00 pm. The event features an afternoon of seed saving, native food tastings, storytelling, and tours of the site's future ethno-botanical garden. Guest speakers include Jacquelyn Ross, native food gatherer, educator and writer, and Dr. Lois Ellen Frank, a culinary anthropologist and author of Indian Foods of the Southwest Nations. 

To get to the College of Marin extension campus in Novato, take the Ignacio Boulevard exit off Highway 101, and proceed west to the college campus at 1800 Ignacio Blvd. Drive to the very end of the road, and park in Lot #6 near the soccer field.
