Get Ready for the IVC Fall Plant Sale!

Local gardeners won't want to miss this fantastic opportunity to stock up on organic plants of all kinds!

Fall is just about here, and so is the annual Indian Valley Organic Farm & Garden Plant Sale at the . This year's not-to-be missed free event is slated for 10 a.m. to 3 pm.. Saturday, Sept. 22, and Sunday, Sept. 23.

If you're in the market for organic vegetable starts, culinary & tea herbs, annual & perennial flower starts, berries, and more, this sale will be one stop shopping for all your garden plants!

In addition to the aforementioned offerings, this year's special feature will be local fruit trees — grafted at the farm — and specified to do well in this area: apples, pears, Asian pears, plums, apricots, nectarines, peaches, and quince.

Shoppers will also be treated to tastings, live music, bouquet-making, and farm tours led by Marin Master Gardeners. A workshop on "Planning Your Cool Weather Garden," led by COM Instructor and Horticultural Therapist Liz Buckner, will be available for a $25 participation fee. The workshop will be held on Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and focuses on all the important steps for creating a thriving winter garden including succession planting, cover crops, soil preparation/composting, and transplanting techniques. To get to the , take the Ignacio Boulevard exit off Highway 101, and proceed west to the college campus at 1800 Ignacio Blvd. Drive to the very end of the road, and park in the end lot near the soccer field.
