Novato High School AFJROTC

On Friday May 10 the NHS AFJROTC had its annual awards ceremony. In addition to some significant cash awards to outstanding students the Air Force Academy Representative announced that this year over 9000 applicants to the Academy were received and 1100 were accepted. FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER A SINGLE SCHOOL, NOVATO HIGH SCHOOL, HAD THREE STUDENTS ACCEPTED. Over the years the program has struggled with low enrollment and financial difficulties with the NUSD but this is indeed indicative of how the program has turned the corner. Congratulations Lt Col Yamaguchi and MSGT Muench as well as the 100 or so cadets in the program. The program still needs the community's support so let the Principal as well as the Supt and Board of Trustees know that you support the program.
