Memorial Day

This Monday at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium at the Civic Center in San Rafael the Marin United Veterans Council will honor all veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice either in battle or during peacetime. The ceremonies will start at 9:30 am with a concert by the Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary Valley District Non-marching band followed by a ceremony inside the auditorium and then at the monuments area on the Avenue of the Flags. There will be a flyover at 1115 honoring Lieutenant Colonel Howard Pierson as well as all the other veterans and their families. Wreaths will be placed at the monuments followed by taps and the retirement of the colors. Afterwards join us for refreshments in the Redwood Foyer.
