Marin Military Officers Group Recruiting New Members

MOAA is the leading voice on compensation and benefit issues for the entire military community.

The Military Officers Association of America is the nation's largest and most influential association of military officers. We are a powerful force speaking for a strong national defense and representing the interests of military officers and their families at every stage of their careers. All active duty, retired, National Guard, Reserve, former commissioned officers, and warrant officers of the uniformed services — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration — are eligible for membership.

MOAA both locally and nationally depends on membership numbers in our lobbying efforts which are, for the most part, successful.  MOAA is called first to testify before both houses on matters dealing with the military, active, reserve, National Guard and the retired community.  Although we are an association of active, retired, former officers and their wives/widows we make no distinction when we are working with elected officials and the Department of Defense.

With the impending cut of 100,000 to 200,000 troops, many will be and are being discharged before they are eligible for any benefits. This includes their families who depend on the services for their health care.  While normal attrition is one thing large reductions place a burden on troops who have had multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

So if you are a currently serving officer — active, reserve, National Guard — give us a shot. Chapter membership is free and you can get one year’s free membership to MOAA. NOTHING TO LOSE.

Retired and former officers can get two years membership in MOAA for $30;  chapter dues are $20 per year for retired and former officers and $10 for auxiliaries.
