Happy Birthday, USMC

One extra salute on this Veterans Weekend.

It was 237 years ago at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia when the United States Marine Corps was founded.

Thanks John. Do you know which branch of the service is the oldest? Someone told me yesterday that the Army Corps of Engineers had that distinction. From the first day of boot camp I was told the Marine Corps was the oldest. We used to jokingly say that the Marine Corps was "200 years of tradition unhampered by progress." Always careful not to said within earshot of a senior officer or NCO.
