Novato Cash Mob "Mobs" a Local Merchant

Have you ever heard of a Flash Mob? Well, a Cash Mob is the same sort of idea. Yesterday, a group known as Novato Cash Mob held its first event.

Novato Cash Mob is a group, open to all, that shops as a "mob" to support local merchants. The idea is to gather together at a specified time and then flood into a designated place of business.  Everyone is suppose to buy something but how much you spend is up to you.

We do this to bring attention to the merchants of Novato.

It's also a lot of fun.

At noon on Saturday, the group known as Novato Cash Mob hosted its first event. Our target merchange was Beehive Antiques at 928 Grant Avenue.  The owner is Frankie Ross.

Frank opened Beehive Antiques on February 1st, 2011.  You'll recognize his store at the one near the northeast corner of Grant and Redwood.  His is the place with the antiques spilling out onto the sidewalk.

We found this to be a facinating store with every corner stuffed with a treasure of some sort.

Right now, we are planning to mob someone on Saturday, April 7th.  The more the merrier.
