Savor Wine and a Menu from RN74 with Rajat Parr

Join us for a celebration of wine and food from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, when Fresh Starts Chef Events hosts renowned sommelier Rajat Parr and Adam Sobel, chef and partner at RN74 restaurant.

As wine director of Mina Group and its signature restaurant, MICHAEL MINA, Rajat Parr has presided for a decade over a list of more than 2,500 wines from all over the world.

Along with wines selected from his own Sandhi label for tasting, guests will enjoy two expertly paired dishes from Chef Adam as well as a housemade dessert. The menu:

  • Chilled English Pea Soup with Dungeness Crab & Lemon Verbena - Sandhi SBC Chardonnay 2012
  • Ricotta Cavatelli with Early Girl Tomatoes, Woodlands Bacon, Mint & Pecorino - Sandhi SRH Pinot Noir 2012

In 2010, Rajat Parr founded Sandhi with two partners -- a small-production winery centered in the Santa Rita Hills of Santa Barbara County. The winery focuses on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, creating wines that express the personality of each specific vineyard.

The RN74 restaurant, named for the famous "wine route" of Route National 74 in France, opened in San Francisco in 2009 and spawned a sister restaurant in Seattle in 2011.

Along with guiding the wine lists of Mina restaurants, Rajat Parr co-authored “Secrets of the Sommeliers: How to think and drink like Americas top wine professionals,” which won the James Beard Foundation Award as best beverage book in 2011.

Come and learn from one of the very best in the wine business -- with food to match! Tickets are $65, including wine pairings; reservations are available online or by calling 415-382-3363 x243.

All proceeds benefit shelter and job-training programs at Homeward Bound of Marin. The event takes place in the showcase kitchen at the Next Key Center, 1385 N. Hamilton Parkway, in Novato.
