New Leases at Hamilton Landing Viewed as Good Sign for Novato's Economy

86,000 square feet of commercial space recently leased, although vacancy rate remains slightly higher than county average

A spate of new leases at Hamilton Landing is being lauded as a good sign for Novato's economy, bringing high-wage jobs to town, the Marin Independent Journal is reporting.

The new leases include an expansion by 2K, a video-game company, that is increasing office space by 25,000 square feet, according to the IJ. Raptor Pharmaceutical, which focuses on treating rare diseases, has leased a total of 42,000 square feet, and EDG Interior Architecture, a San Rafael company, is leasing 19,000 square feet of space, according to the IJ.

The new leases total 86,000 square feet, not insignificant for the 406,000-square-foot office complex that has been hard hit by Disney’s departure in 2010.
