Rotary Christmas Tree Lot Now Open

Where would you prefer to shop for your Christmas tree? Would you rather grab one from in a parking lot downtown or drive into the country to cut your own?

How about the convenience of city shopping with the views and setting of a country drive?

The Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise’s Christmas Tree Lot will be open for business from Nov. 26 through Dec. 23 at their usual scenic location, the St. Vincent's School for Boys field at the Miller Creek Road/St. Vincent Drive exit off of highway 101 between San Rafael and Novato.

The Rotarians' tree lot hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the weekends and 3-6 p.m. weekdays. The lot is spacious and well lit with plenty of parking. Being staffed by Rotarians and other volunteers, you will always be greeted by helpful people willing to help with your tree from the lot to the car.

Can’t find your tree stand? They’ve got that! If you would like someone to take a picture of your family experience, a Rotarian will be happy to snap it for you.

The lot is one of the Novato Sunrise club’s two annual fundraising events which enable the club to support their charitable deeds in the local, regional and world communities. Locally, the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise champions the smoke alarm project, offering smoke alarm testing and replacement at each of the Novato mobile home parks as well as an essay contest for each Novato middle school and high school student to participate in.  They also work locally with the other Rotary clubs to support joint effort projects like the dictionary project,  which ensures each third grader in Novato gets a new color dictionary each year. Partnering with other clubs allows the support of other regional and worldwide projects.

Last year the club sold its last tree about a week before Christmas, allowing them to close the lot early and saving  valuable volunteer hours. The club thanks you for your support. The trees are always fresh and full, so shop early and shop often.

The Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise meets at Moylan’s Brewery & Restaurant at 15 Rowland Way in Vintage Oaks Shopping Center at 7:15 a.m. every Tuesday.  For more information, call 415-883-0800 or visit the club’s website: www.novatosunriserotary.org.
