24th Annual

Project Recognition Awards

What is Project Recognition,

and why do we need your help?

While young people are often rewarded for high academic achievement, those who display other forms of excellence can be overlooked. Project Recognition is seeking nominees who excel through less measurable means, who by their enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment to their schools and their communities are equally deserving of recognition.  Past honorees include a high school girl and recent immigrant who, by striving for excellence, became a role model for other Latino students; a middle school girl who shares her devotion to the performing arts by giving free performances at local rest homes; and a church youth ministry leader known for her compassion towards other teens encountering difficult situations.

Anyone who is involved with the youth of Novato (teachers, youth group leaders, friends, and neighbors) is invited to nominate a prospective honoree.

To submit your nominations, please send the following information no later than February 25, 2011, to  Sue Potter, 1101 Second Street, Novato, CA 94945.

♦   Young person's accomplishments.  PLEASE BE SPECIFIC!  Tell us why this girl is special. A wealth of information is much better than not enough!  Include age, school, and grade.

♦   Additional letters of support from others who know this young person are encouraged.

♦   Your name, address, and phone number, and those of the group you represent, if any.

♦   If known, candidate's address, phone number, and name of parent or guardian.

Awards will be presented at a special ceremony on May 18th.

If you have questions about the program or the nomination process,

please contact Sue Potter at 892-5569 (or spotter12@hotmail.com)         or Gail Jackson at 897-7696.
