Handing the Pulpit Over to the Youth

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and School Encourage Youth to Experience Leadership During Worship in the First-Annual Youth Sunday

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is teaming with Good Shepherd Lutheran School and conducting the first of it’s soon-to-be annual Youth Sunday on Sunday, March 17. The youth of the congregation and students from the school will lead the 11:00 a.m. worship in a variety of roles; from preaching and assistant minister, to greeters, ushers, communion assistants, acolytes and musicians, to name a few.

Youth Sunday will be held on the fifth Sunday in Lent, and the message - preached by Good Shepherd Lutheran School alumnus, Ken Larson - will focus on service and scripture based on the events leading up to Easter. “We are thrilled to involve our youth in this capacity,” says Congregational Life Coordinator, Karen Kane. “This is an exciting event and a greatly supported effort to involve members of all ages, and it’s a unique opportunity for our youth to experience leadership during worship service.”
