Lions and Tigers and Teddy Bears! OH MY!

Lions and Tigers AND TEDDY BEARS! OH MY!
Bravo to two great organizations that the Frankie Poulos Foundation works with today: Sinaloa Middle School and Novato Human Needs.

Sinaloa middle school led by Principal Mary Pritchard has once again collected hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of Teddy Bears. On collection day,the staff, students and teachers all show up to school in PJ'S! LOL! Lovely to see young people contributing so generously and joyfully to others.

The Bears will be distributed by Santa during the annual "kids shopping day" at the Novato Human Needs facility. Young people, who could not shop in a store, sign up to do Christmas shopping for their families, expecting nothing for themselves. The Bears are a surprise. One year I saw Santa take a photo with a bear and a little guy there to shop. After the photo, he handed the bear back to Santa. Santa said, "Young man that is yours to keep". I will never forget the look of surprise and joy on his face. A small gesture that made a big difference.

Through the years we have partnered with San Marin High School and the last few years Sinaloa Middle School to collect bears. We stopped counting at 10,000 plus! A personal note of gratitude to Tracy Walker and Janet Lucasboth teachers, San Marin graduates and friends of our family and Frankie, for launching this tradition and keeping it alive. I think Frankie would be very pleased. He had a special empathy for those less fortunate than he.

Kudos as well to Andrea Johnston & her team @ Novato Human Needs for all the amazing work they do. The Frankie Poulos Foundation is proud to partner with and serve two great organizations.
The Foundation has raised more than $165,000 for Novato Youth.
