Dear GOP: Will You Help Me Raise My Baby?

A letter of concern to the G.O.P.,

Dear GOP,

My name is Claire, Lilly Ledbetter’s friend. I’m 24 and work in a male dominated profession. I just found out I’m pregnant and know that if I vote for your party, there’s a great chance that abortions will be banned in my state.

I suppose you want me to vote for you and that’s why I’m writing. I know you want me to agree to saying “no” to an abortion but I struggle with that.

A big part of my struggle is related to the disparity in wages between my male colleagues and me and I know I’m not alone.  You see, in an ideal world, if I were to say “no” to an abortion, I would be left with the responsibility of raising the child. That means diapers, child care, nutritious food, car seats, doctor’s visits, taking unpaid days off when the baby is sick, and of course, saving for the future.

Perhaps you think that I should’ve thought of all of that before I got pregnant. Just so you know, I was on birth control at the time but something went wrong. That said, I’m a responsible person and want to do the right thing.

I would gladly agree to no abortion, but first I need equal pay. Equal pay would allow me to financially care for this child in a responsible way. Although you say you won’t repeal the Lilly Ledbetter Act, you didn’t support it while it made its way through Congress.

Equal pay and reproductive health care go hand in hand for me – they’re core concerns for me because they affect my daily life.

All in all, I’m a little confused about what you truly stand for. There’s a part of me that wonders if you would like all women to be stay at home moms raising children the traditional way? If that’s the case, you’ll still have me to deal with: unemployed, single and raising a child.

Lets let the government take care of us all. Its too hard to stand on our own and make real life decisions. Vote for the real reason to have Romney or Obama. How ignorant to believe that Romney wants you barefoot and pregnant. How ignorant to believe that Obama cares who you are unless you are voting for him. Obama care will bankrupt the country, read it. you dont think you will be taxed more? Where do you really think that money comes from? Why do people focus on tax returns, when Obama has transcripts sealed? I dont believe Romney is the answer. But Obama will not have to run for re-election. He will be able to do things we may not like with out the thought of what we think. Remember his open mike comment... TO a comunist. Just think, Nothing else just think.

Please return to your destroyed homeland of "England", as this country was the only HOPE in the world, that the not so free try to break into. All you need to see is why South Americans have overrun the Southern border. our friend to the North is not running to America. All of the America's have free election but we are where everybody wants to live.

Claire, I respect your thoughts but honestly is not a good reason, why you don't want to have your baby, first if you really didn't want to get pregnant, exist a lot of methods to avoid it, second don't open your legs and to finished with my comment you can give your baby in adoption. believe me there are many women who wish to have children and please don't kill your own child

The Dr. of PhD Neuroscience, MFT in Petaluma and Marin has steered the crab pot. So flipping burgers and your mother babysitting with WIC will support your child. If you are lucky to get a college loan our President Obama will and has lowered your new loan by three percent points, he has stopped your investment in your retirement on SSI, this by forty dollars a month so you can buy a tank of fuel today a half a tank of fuel from four years ago. I do like these three brave men that has fathered babies some babies. Mail on line: Tennessee's deadbeat dads: The three men who have fathered 78 children with 46 different women... and they're not paying child support to any of them so who should support this?
