Perennial Propagation in the Autumn Garden

This hands-on workshop at the Indian Valley Organic Farm and Garden will cover basic

principles and practices of vegetative propagation including bulb culture,

perennial division and the art of taking strong cuttings and starting

perennials from seed. Everyone will take home a wealth of free garden-ready

plant material. Wear good walking shoes and be prepared for rain. Register online by November 13. Class size is limited. Master Gardeners receive three

continuing education hours.

Johnson
, Environmental Landscape instructor at the College of Marin and

advisor to the Indian

Valley Organic Farm and Garden
program. She is one of the founders of the organic

Farm and Garden Program at Green Gulch Farm Zen Center and is the author of Gardening at the Dragon’s Gate (2008).

Vic Stavig, an organic gardening student specializing in propagation, will be

assisting the class. She heads the Farm Club and volunteers at the Indian

Valley Organic Farm and Garden.
