Lorne Peterson, visual
effects artist for the entire Star Wars saga, gives an inside look at
the science and secrets behind the artful models and sculptures of Star Wars.
Peterson, who received an Academy Award and a British Academy Award for Visual
Effects for his work on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, has a rich
history of working on blockbuster films such as Men in Black, ET
and Willow. He is the author of Sculpting a Galaxy: Inside the Star
Wars Model Shop. This is the second lecture of Hooked on Marin,
an exciting four-part speaker series celebrating what makes Marin County a
