"Surviving the Holiday Season with COPD" will be the topic of the American Lung Association Better Breathers Club meeting, facilitated by Jim Braley, RRT, director of the respiratory therapy department at Novato Community Hospital. Meetings are held in the hospital library, located in the west medical office building.
Mr. Braley will share helpful tips and actions to help people with COPD celebrate and enjoy the holidays and breathe in the New Year. Also, he will discuss best ways to avoid and manage seasonal colds and the flu.
Meetings are free and open to the public.

Community Hospital, the Better Breathers Club program provides information on breathing problems and support for participants and their families. COPD is an umbrella term for chronic bronchitis and emphysema, two conditions in which the airways are obstructed. It is the third leading cause of death in the United States.
