Why I’m Running:

I support Novato and local control, its vision and quality of life.  While in high school and in college, I cheered for my team and I am now cheering for Novato as my extended family. My lifelong experiences with family, work, travel, study, and recreation has led me to believe that I can be part of the process to foster better local control, more responsible budgeting, setting better priorities, and better planning.

I have the time to research, interview, work and advocate for Novato’s General Plan, Downtown Specific Plan, and Hamilton’s Plan as well as cooperating with neighborhoods, schools, staff, council, and businesses to find compatible low density growth and retail for Novato, while rebuilding and remarketing vacant businesses and bringing new ones to fill vacancies.

I care about Novato and its wonderful family oriented neighborhoods, maintaining its character and making it the best city in the North Bay. Being involved in a productive way is important to my constituency and to me. I would be honored by your vote.

Top 3 Issues:

Finances

(We need to) save money by encouraging and cooperating with the council and staff to better fund the Pension Reserve Fund with more than the $1300 dollars currently saved. This will save over $2 million dollars to the general fund and taxpayers in the next few years. This is responsible budgeting as it will reduce the debt of pension liability for Novato.

Public Services

We need to use Measure F funds to plan for future needed safety personnel, maintenance crews, storm drain repair, infrastructure, full time emergency coordinator, and programs for youth, families, and seniors.

Local Control

I want to assist neighborhoods in their needs to protect and preserve their uniqueness and land use appropriate for their quality of life in Novato. This means that Hamilton residents, Partridge Knolls and other neighborhoods must decide what is best for them and not outside interests in making those decisions. It will take compromise and neighborhood discussions with staff and council to figure out solutions –I want to be part of this process.

Do you support renewing Measure F?

No, it was intended for essential services.
