Candidate Forum Scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 3

In case you haven't noticed by the campaign poster around town, it's election season.

Four people are in the running for two seats. They include incumbents Mayor Pat Eklund and Councilwoman Denise Athas and retired teacher and community activist Eleanor Sluis and Creekside Bakery co-owner Steve Jordan.
Who are these candidates and what vision do they have for the community?

Steve Jordan, a newcomer to politics, presents himself as a straight shooter who listens to people. He's against Measure F and rejects the state mandate on where to build affordable housing.

Sluis, who ran in 2011, is advocating for pension reform, better zoning laws and no large recreational facility at Hamilton.
