How will Lucan vote on Tuesday?

How will Eric Lucan vote on Tuesday on Measure F funds? Council Meeting - 9/24/13 Date: Tuesday-9/24/2013 6:30 PM Location: Novato City Hall 901 Sherman Avenue****** This meeting will allocate $ 372,000 from Measure F sales tax fund for the marketing of a BIO/LIFE Science project. I do not think that spending that amount of money from a fund specifically for marketing is wise because of the need for safety patrols, a full time emergency coordinator, and maintenance crews as first responders, deteriorating streets, and storm drains.****** Measure F funds were promised for these areas first, not frivolous spending on more consultants. ** If a bio/science lab wants to come to Novato- If a bio/science lab wants to come to Novato-that company can figure it out if it can financially succeed, not consultants from Novato. Novato does not need to waste hard earned dollars to find solutions for them. **The city now is approaching spending $ 1,000,000-one million dollars of Measure F funds that is unwarranted and needs to be cut short. Low priority is given especially to streets, maintenance, seniors and youth. Funds for repairing storm drains are not even mentioned.**** I am disappointed, to say it mildly, about the lack of priority for the needs of the city and its citizens first coming first, before asking for more money for Novato’s continued hiring of consultants and administrators.**** This project needs to be low priority until the pension obligation bonds have a reduced rate of return and there is enough money saved to pay retirees in a reserve fund. First priorities and the role of government are about taking care of the city in a responsible manner: this project does not fit those parameters. I would vote to take care of seniors, safety, youth, and infrastructure first. This project needs to be placed on low priority status. This issue is another reason why I am running for city council-to make sure that tax dollars are spent in a more fiscally responsible manner. Thank you, Eleanor Sluis
