Touched By Terror: Patch Remembers 9/11 in 911 Snapshots

Nationwide photo gallery includes shots from Marin Patch sites.

Novato Patch, the four other Marin Patch sites and more than 800 others around the nation contributed to a special tribute photo montage for the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. It appears today on the Huffington Post.

A close-up of shot of the Paul Sloan memorial at San Marin High School appears in the gallery, which can be seen here. Sloan, a 26-year-old from Novato, was in one of the World Trade Center towers when it was struck by a plane piloted by terrorist hijackers. Jack Keohane and Jeffrey Collman of Novato also died in the attacks.

The fire and rubble caused by those four maliciously guided jetliners devastated lower Manhattan, Arlington, Va., and Shanksville, Pa. But the shockwaves went around the world and continue to reverberate to this day. Patch has collected hundreds of stories about how the attacks have affected people's lives. Explore this gallery to read about all the ways that people have responded to tragedy with hope and resilience. For all of HuffPost's September 11 coverage, click here.
