Pranksters Warn of Drones Flying Over Highway 101 in Marin

Goofy signs were placed along Hwy. 101 near the Highway 37 interchange as well as in Marin City early last week, CHP officials said.

Last week, pranksters posted signs on Highway 101, including one in Novato, telling drivers to watch out for drones, according to the Marin Independent Journal.

The signs are not real, but they appeared to be professionally made, with reflective coating and were bolted to existing speed limit signs, according to the article.

The goofy signs were placed near the Highway 37 interchange as well as in Marin City early last week, but they were spotted by a California Highway Patrol officer and quickly removed.

"The problem is people might slow to look at these things, or to take pictures, and the next thing you know we are responding to an accident," CHP spokesman Andrew Barclay told the IJ.
