New Show at Marin MOCA

Exhibit recalibrates the definition of "normal"

The Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in Hamilton is unveiling a new show this Saturday, July 20.

The exhibit is titled “Out of Order” and challenges viewers’ expectations of the “normal” by deconstructing, rearranging and reconfiguring subject matter.

Among the pieces in the new show is Jodi Lieburn Chimenti’s Desire, a collage that combines various techniques to create a landscape of flowing organic shapes and Bette Golden Lamb’s Broken Hearted, which transforms a clay vessel into a textured and snarled sculpture.

Also on display at Marin MOCA is artwork by members of Cedars of Marin, an organization that offers art projects, community service, gardening and more to developmentally disabled adults. That exhibition features a variety of artworks from their members including large scale paintings, textile sculptures and mixed media drawings.
