July 4th Parade Winners Announced

This year's theme was "Unsung Heroes"

Did you make it to this year's July Fourth parade downtown?

If so, you may have seen the dozens of parade entrants--both human and animal--strutting their stuff down Grant Avenue. Now the winners have been announced.

The top prize went to Filipino-Americans of North America Organization (FANCO), awarded the “Best Overall for Expression of Theme.” The group’s members are Filipino-Americans who live Marin, Solano and Sonoma counties, including numerous World War II veterans.

The adorable bassett hounds from Golden Gate Bassett Rescue received “Best Animal Entry” while Nostalgia Days nabbed the “Best Classic/Vintage” category.
