Sleep Walker Who Drank Chemicals, Stolen Cars and Angry Drivers Keep Novato Cops Busy

A break-in was reported at San Jose Middle School on July 8. Someone broke a window, discharged fire extinguisher and stole some cleaning supplies.

A car was broken into in the 1700 block of Marion Avenue on July 8.

A 1997 Nissan Sentra was reported stolen in the 900 block of Ignacio Boulevard on July 8. 

A residential burglary was reported in the 100 block of Vivian Court July 8. An iPad and cash were taken. 

A 1996 Toyota Camry was stolen in the 100 block of Los Robles Road July 7.

Two people were seen trying to enter parked cars in the 400 block of Ignacio Boulevard on July 7. Police responded, but no arrests were made. 

A woman called 9-1-1 after she accidently ingested a Green Works cleaning product while sleepwalking. She added that she had not intended to hurt herself.

A woman reported that she had been raped by an ex-boyfriend in May in the 200 block of San Andreas Drive. The victim now has a restraining order against the suspect.

A man visiting from out of town and had gotten lost said he was followed by another driver July 5 who threatened to beat him up after the other allegedly cut him off in traffic.

Joye Lynn Brown, a Novato resident, was arrested July after trying to pick up a fraudulent prescription. She has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, burglary and forging a prescription.

A gunshot was reportedly fired around 2am on July 3 on Mill Road.

A 2-year-old was taken to Kaiser Terra Linda after being submerged in a pool and losing consciousness on July 3. The child was revived and discharged later that day.

A patient at Canyon Manor, an senior resident facility, has been charged with batter and assault after attacking an aide on July 3. The man, whose name was deleted by Novato Police, punched an aide in the face several times, causing a cut on the lip and a laceration to her head.

A woman who lives in the 500 block of Center Road said a neighbor has been harassing her children, including using racial slurs against them and threatening to harm the family.
