Community Notes: Rotarians Honor Novato Teachers; Local GOP Group Offering Reagan Scholarship

News and notes that matter to you.

The Novato Rotary Club honored 20 local teachers for excellence in teaching.

The instructors were presented with a Certificate of Recognition from the State Legislature at the 14th Annual Rotary Club Teacher Awards and Recognition Luncheon at the Margaret Todd Senior Center on May 31.

The teachers honored were Beth Ardzrooni, Leonard Banning, Cynthia Bergez, Melissa Diaz, Isaias Franco, Matt Gardner, Kirby Gibbs, Dave Jones, Jeff Packman, Valerie Logue, Reyna Lowrie, Radha Makker, Kate Mansergh, Karen McCormish, Ruth Miller, Lori Owens, Jason Seale,Emily Steffy, Michelle Stephens, Dana Tamura and Megan Truitt.

The ceremony will air on Novato Public Access Television (Comcast Channel 26) in Novato, on Tuesdays at 7 p.m., Thursdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at Noon.

Reagan scholarship:

The California Federation of Republican Women are offering a $3,000 scholarship in honor of President Reagan.

The scholarship is open to registered Republican women undergraduates majoring in political science, communication or studies related to the pursuit of a law degree. Applicants must be United States citizens who are California residents and have completed two years of college.
