DNBA Marketing Committee Meeting Monthly Report

The DNBA is a volunteer organization that puts on most major Downtown Novato Events and markets the Downtown Novato. If you would like to volunteer contact info@downtownnovato.com. Bookmark www.downtownnovato.com to stay up on what is going on.

The Marketing Committee is a volunteer committee of DNBA Members and supporting vendors, it meets weekly on Wednesdays, at 8:00am at AE Video&Web Design All welcome.

State of the Association

The annual report to the city is delayed due to the resignation of the Treasurer.  Connie Madeiros, the new Treasurer and Tom Atkin have stepped up to take over the responsibilities for creating the annual report of DNBA marketing Activities for the City of Novato.

Tom Atkin met with the city to discuss the possibility to perform an independent survey of the DNBA membership with respect to the value and usefulness of the DNBA to the community and it's members.  There is no budgeted line item for a project of this sort, there is discussion underway about how to include this in the 2014 budget.

Three marketing Success Stories were reported:

  • A Pacheco Center business owner reported that prior to seeing our marketing she didn't even know the Downtown existed, now she frequently stops downtown on her commute home to Santa Rosa.
  • SF Chronicle customer noticed that they were using images from our ads, this means the customer was sufficiently familiar with our advertising to recognize our image branding.
  • Two separate sources (a Marin Business owner and the SF Chroicle Representative attending local meetings) reported that our website www.downtownnovato.com was being held as the example of best practices for marketing a downtown community in Marin by both Corte Madera and Mill Valley business communities.
