The Downtown Novato Business Association(DNBA) was created by the city of Novato. The city established the Business Improvement District (BID) in the downtown area, bounded by De Long Avenue on the south , and Olive on the north, from Railroad up to 7th st on the east and west. All businesses in the BID are assessed fees that partially fund the marketing programs and events put on by the DNBA. Much of the marketing activity for DNBA is done by the volunteer efforts of the Board and the Marketing Committee.
The Board of Directors is a group of volunteers from the pool of DNBA members, who are then voted on by the DNBA members. The Current DNBA Board members officers are: Darren Pomponio, President, Tom Atkin, VP and Marketing Committee Chair, Amy Brinkel, Treasurer, and Catherine Bragg, Secretary. There are 8 other members at large.
The DNBA Marketing Committee develops the marketing budget, programs and executes events, advertising and website activities.
In fall last year the DNBA hired local website developers Solvatech to execute their website marketing vision and build the new www.downtownnovato.com website.
