San Marin wins multiple events in last week's MCAL Track & Field and MCAL Swim & Dive Championships. NCS competition is this weekend. Baseball and softball start MCAL Playoffs this week.

MCAL Track & Field and MCAL Swim & Dive Championships were held last week with some great results for San Marin. Baseball and softball begin MCAL Playoffs this week, as NCS competition begins for Track/Field & Swim/Dive.

Varsity Boys – It looks to be an exciting week ahead for the SM baseball team. The boys closed out the MCAL season at 11-7 clinching the 6th seed in this week’s MCAL Playoffs. They were just 1 game back of a 4 way tie for 2nd place. They will play at Novato on Tuesday at 4:30 in the quarterfinals. The boys have also qualified for NCS Playoffs beginning next week.

SOFTBALL
The girls had a great close to the season knocking off previously unbeaten Terra Linda on Tuesday. They are the #2 seed going into this week’s playoffs and look to be a real force in their quest for a repeat title. The girls will open the MCAL Playoffs on Friday at 6:30 on Gary Gates Field at San Marin. Their opponent will be determined after the completion of Tuesday’s quarterfinals. The girls look to receive a high seed going into next week’s NCS Playoffs as well.

Swimming
The Mustangs had an impressive run at the MCAL Swimming and Diving competitions. First on Thursday, Haley Blount repeated as champion of girl’s diving in dominating fashion winning by 46 points. She will now move on to NCS competition on Thursday in Concord.
Then over the weekend, the swimmers hit the pool at Drake HS. As a team, the boys took 5th and the girls finished 6th. Individually:
- Boys 200 yard Medley relay got 2nd – Ryan Campbell, Louis Campbell, Kenneth Castro Abrams and Dan Farbman
- Megan Campbell got first in the 200 IM and 100 fly.
- Kenneth Castro Abrams got first in the fly and in backstroke got first, broke his own MCAL meet record by over a second and broke the MCAL league record.
San Marin will send the following athletes over to compete at NCS:
- Boys and Girls 200 yard medley relay teams
- Megan Campbell, Kenneth Castro Abrams, Ryan Campbell, Daniel Hardman, Louis Campbell and Haley Blount will compete in individual events
Track & Field
The MCAL Track & Field Championships were hosted at San Marin last week. The Mustangs will be sending along 11 athletes to NCS competition this weekend at Santa Rosa HS.
