Relay for Life July 27/28

Relay for Life is a 24-hour community celebration to fight back against cancer.  After months of planning and preparation, Relay will take place at San Jose Middle School, 1000 Sunset Parkway, Novato, 10 am to 10 am.  This is our community’s event for the American Cancer Society, with the 24 hours representing the fact that people living with cancer fight it 24 hours a day.  Admission fee consists of donations and pledges for teams and T-shirts.

Elvis and the Flashbacks, Brett Bradford and The Tide, and Laura Johnston will provide entertainment, there will be a watermelon eating contest, frozen shirt race, and minute to win it challenges.

Participants and members of teams take turns walking the track and learning about cancer prevention and services available to families with cancer while enjoying food, music, and entertainment. As a cancer survivor, I plan to be part of the walk!  Come join me!

Cancer survivors are honored at the beginning of the walk; at dusk, lives that were lost to cancer are honored, and during the Luminary Ceremony – candles are lit in bags with cancer victims’ names, put in paper bags and placed all around the track.  Call Michelle 415 320-5142, or website  www.relayforlife.org/novatoca
