Just like walking a dog...

People stop their cars, grab their camera, and always have a smile.  It's kind of like the guy riding the donkeys in the Patch article yesterday.  Whenever I walk my llamas, people always smile.  The comments are fun:  "Only in Marin would I ever see that!"  "The biggest dogs I've ever seen."  "I love their eyelashes."  "Do they spit?"

My response to the last comment is that llamas spit as a last resort.  Just like dogs don't go around biting everyone; llamas don't spit unless truly provoked.  My llamas have never spat at a human.  They may have spat at some animal that was attacking them.  In fact, llamas are used as guards for sheep.

Llamas are great animals.  They mow the lawn, they trim the trees, they don't smell, they don't make any noise, they eat most all the stuff that would normally go into a compost pile, and they leave great non-smelling fertilizer in a neat stack for use in the garden.

My girls Lluna and Llovee are a delightful part of my life here in Novato!
