Fashion Show Fundraiser Helps Local Women and Girls
Soroptomist International's April 21 event showcases local Novato clothing and benefits our own women and girls.
The annual fashion show is the main fundraising activity of Soroptimist International of Novato, which helps us to achieve our mission of improving the lives of women and girls, both locally and globally. This year’s fashion show will be at the on Saturday, April 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. A delicious luncheon combined with a fashion show promises a fun time for all! The fashion show is choreographed by Soroptimist members and features lots of music, dancing, and entertainment, in addition to the lovely spring clothing modeled by well-known local women strutting their stuff! All for a tax-deductible donation of $45.
The theme this year will be "Sentimental Journey," and there will be continuous background slides of images from early days at Hamilton Air Force Base, the beginnings of the town of Novato, as well as hot roadsters from downtown Novato’s Nostalgia Days Car Show. There will be memories for everyone as a backdrop to new fashions from on Grant Avenue.
The silent auction portion of the show offers two packages for holiday weekends in Tahoe, a personal flight over San Francisco Bay, and rides to school in a hot Corvette, a premium Porsche (see photo), or a bright red fire engine! Dozens of articles and services will be for bid, including baskets filled with goodies, jewelry, hotel and restaurant certificates, household items, and many more.
