14th Annual Novato Teacher Awards

Pictured are 20 local teachers chosen to receive a Certificate of Recognition from the State Legislature. The teachers were honored by Novato Rotary Club for excellence in teaching on May 31st at Margaret Todd Senior Center, as part of the 14th Annual Rotary Club Teacher Awards and Recognition Luncheon. Each teacher's name had been selected as the outstanding teacher of their school within the Novato School District. The luncheon address and introduction of this years outstanding teachers was given by Mary Jane Burke, the Superintendent of Schools for Marin County, as she has done for the first twelve years of the event. The teachers were presented with a plaque, as well as a cash award in which they vowed to spend on themselves. PHOTO: Top Row, Left to Right : Marin Supt. The entire recognition ceremony will air on Novato Public Access Television, Comcast Channel 26 in Novato, on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m., Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 12 Noon.
