Anne-Marie Miklos is a Novato resident who is helping to make a difference with her day job at a nonprofit business as a Development Director at the Sustainable Sports Foundation.

The organization is a nonprofit that puts on three athletic events in Marin annually. They hold the Marin County Half Marathon in Novato which also has 10k and 5k categories. They also stage the Marin County Swim and the Marin County Triathlon.

Miklos is the only full time employee along with a few part time employees. “We have a couple hundred volunteers that help out before the race handing out fliers with promotional materials, getting out all of the expo information materials, registration and the a couple hundred on race day.

It's really volunteer run by the community, which is another really cool thing about this event. This is the events seventh year. The founder and his athletic friends wondered why there was nothing like this in Marin and it served as the catalyst to for physical events.
