Mrs. Grossman: Queen of Stickers

The Petaluma company is the world's only sticker manufacturer offering a factory tour and donates a lot of its product to hospitals to entertain bed-ridden children.

Check it out this recent profile of Petaluma resident Andrea Grossman, the “long reigning queen of stickers” in the San Francisco Chronicle.

Grossman was running a graphic design business when a manufacturer sent her hearts printed on rolls instead of flat labels, a mistake that she turned into a profitable business over the next three decades.

In the company’s heyday, churned out 15,000 miles of stickers every year, when production at the East Side facility went on 24-7, according to the article. It’s also the world’s only sticker company with a factory tour, something the company considered closing, but revived last year due to popular demand.

Mrs. Grossman’s stickers are not only sold worldwide, but also donated to hospitals, to help entertain children who may be recovering from an illness or an accident. The sticker impresario also does a lot of work in prisons and several years ago handed the day-to-day operations of the business to her son, Jason.
