Moylan's, Continental Jewelers Nab Business of Year Awards

VIDEO: Watch the mayor present keys to the city and check out Patty Bennett's reaction to earning Citizen of the Year at the Paint the Town Red Celebration.

Patty Bennett's crowning as the 2012 Novato Citizen of the Year was not the only reason to celebrate at the Paint the Town Red gala, held Jan. 19 at the Margaret Todd Senior Center.

Brendan Moylan accepted a key to the city from Mayor Pat Eklund as a follow-up to Moylan's Brewery & Restaurant being named Novato Chamber of Commerce Large Business of the Year, an honor bestowed at the annual chamber luncheon on Jan. 11.

Continental Jewelers, represented by owners Phillip and Eva Schlenker, received a round of applause and another key to the city for being named Small Business of the Year.

Here are photos and videos of the event, including an emotional clip of Bennett receiving her award and being surprised by friends and relatives who were in on the big secret. Feel free to add your own by clicking on "upload photos."

Kudos to Brendan, it couldn't happen to a better guy or better establishment...I highly recommend Moylans, if you like good beer and nice people....Way to go....
