Marin County Has Lowest Unemployment Rate in Bay Area, Data Shows

Unemployment rates in the Bay Area mostly declined from March to April, according to data released Friday by California's Employment Development Department. 

Marin County had the lowest unemployment rate in the Bay Area in April at 3.9 percent, down from 4.7 percent in March. 

Solano County had the highest unemployment rate in the area at 7 percent, down from 7.9 percent. 

Santa Clara County was the only Bay Area county to see an increase in unemployment. 

The county saw an April rise to 6.3 percent compared to a 6.1 percent rate in March. 

Overall, California saw a decrease in unemployment to 7.8 percent from 8.1 percent.
